Senator Dick Cohen Primary Party and Fundraiser

This past week, a  DFL challenger filed against Senator Dick Cohen, generating a primary election on Tuesday, August 14 for the SD64 DFL Senate candidate to run in the November election. Let’s do what we can to show our support for Senator Dick Cohen, a champion for St. Paul and our endorsed candidate. In preparation for the primary, a fundraiser is being held to help re-elect Sen. Dick Cohen as our SD64 DFL endorsed candidate.  The fundraiser will be at Bill Strusinski’s home, 11 Crocus Hill, on Tuesday June 19 from 6:00-9:00 pm.  This fundraiser is also to get the word out about the primary election so please spread the word to your friends and neighbors about this important primary election.  We look forward to seeing you there! Please RSVP or send questions  to rsvp@sd64dfl.org

The Cohen Campaign is also looking for volunteers, lawn sign locations and donations before the August primary.  If you are interested in supporting our DFL endorsed candidate for State Senate please contact Sen. Dick Cohen’s campaign coordinator Cailin Rogers at cailin.rogers@gmail.com.  Any interest or involvement will be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you are unable to vote in person in the primary election it is possible to vote by absentee ballot.  For information on how to vote absentee, please look at the Secretary of State’s website page on absentee voting: http://www.sos.state.mn.us/index.aspx?page=211

Volunteers Needed for Donut Booth, 8/23

After a long hiatus, SD 64 will once again participate in staffing the Donut Booth at the State Fair. It’s not only a fun way to spend the day, but also a great fundraiser for the district, as we get a share of the total proceeds. Our shift has been scheduled for the first day of the Fair, August 23rd. We need at least ten volunteers, so if you’d like to help, please email Adam Chelseth.

Spring Fundraiser (not yet)

Please join us on Wednesday, May 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sweeney’s Saloon.  Enjoy a cold beverage with friends and neighbors while we discuss the end of the 2012 legislative session.  Then pitch in a few dollars to help your local senate district as we look toward re-taking the majority in November!  Thanks for all your help and support!

UPDATE: Due to the extension of the legislative session, the spring fundraiser has been postponed.
