SD64 DFL along with the Murphy & Paymar campaigns would like to thank everyone who helped this election season in SD64. So if you doorknocked in the district, phonebanked, or helped organize events in SD64 or with the flying squad we want to show our appreciation. Please join us for a thank you party. Sunday, January 4th, 3-5pm, Sweeney’s Bar (Upstairs). Admission is free, but we are accepting cash/check donations for second harvest food bank.

More details to come, but it looks like precinct caucuses will be held on February 3rd and the city convention will be March 21st at Arlington High School in 2009. Mark your calendars and we’ll let you know more as we know more. If you’d like to volunteer to convene your precinct, please send a note to info@sd64dfl.org.

Back to work! Our first post-election Central Committee meeting will be on Wednesday, December 17 at 7pm. Join us at Macalester, like usual: Olin-Rice 350. We will be discussing caucuses, a couple upcoming events, and the legislative session. We are also working on a special guest we hope to be able to announce soon.

SD64 was amazing this week. We got the vote out and we diverted hundreds of volunteers to other districts that needed help. Bravo!

More news about the turnout and results after things have settled a bit, but for now, a big thank you to all.

We’re coming up on the final debate this Sunday at 7:00pm. We have a fairly aggressive visibility plan to ensure that both Al and Norm drive through a sea of Franken signs on their ways to the debate and need somewhere near 55 people to meet our goals.

We’ll be getting a good chunk of volunteers by giving them some of our 75 tickets, but we’d like to fill as many of these visibility spots as possible with staff, staff families, and core supporters.

This would mean:

• Arriving at the Fitzgerald Theater at 5:30pm.
• Standing on a designated street corner
• Possibly assisting with a welcome rally for Al

Unless you’re volunteering for a ticket, this won’t guarantee entry into the debate…but it’s something we absolutely need to make the debate successful. Please consider helping.
