St. Paul Unity Doorknock, Sunday 6/22

Join SD64DFL, CD4 DFL, and the other senate districts in St. Paul for a joint door knock reaching out to voters who don’t traditionally vote and registering new voters. We will kick off a summer of campaigning in St. Paul, and hear from local DFL elected officials before heading into the neighborhood to doorknock!

Meet at the Lake Phalen Regional Park picnic shelter, 1530 Phalen Dr, Saint Paul, MN 55106 from Noon to 3pm. Please send an email to rsvp@sd64dfl.org if they plan to attend.

There are 15-20 precincts within the City of St. Paul that have average voter turnout levels below 50%, which is well below the CD4-wide average of almost 70%. If we can focus our energies on identifying, registering, and engaging new voters in these underperforming areas, there is the potential to increase voter turnout by as much at 10,000 votes (if not more). In 2006, Mike Hatch only lost by 20,000 votes, so an additional 10-15,000 votes form St. Paul in 2008 can help ensure re-election not only for our local candidates, but also work to help our statewide candidates.
